A group of over 60’s have been getting creative with Pots and Poems at 1A Arts thanks to funding from Ageing Better in Camden and the Big Lottery Fund. The creative classes for the 60+ follow a theme each term and bring people together to create their own poetry and creative writing. Participants also build new skills in pottery and ceramics.
This term members have been writing poems about their own names and have been making pottery of holly and ivy. It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned potter or poet or completely new to either, the workshops allow you to build you skills at your own pace.
The session has had some great feedback so far, with one participant saying “Pots & Poems is just the thing to brighten up a horrible wet, grey day. I did not know what to expect from the session, but Rachel was so helpful and made it all so interesting.”
Sessions are free and are kindly supported by Ageing Better in Camden and the Big Lottery Fund. Taking place fortnightly on a Thursday afternoon.
