Care
At the heart of our Older People’s Service is the Millman Street Centre, the joy of what we do is providing a safe, welcoming, friendly and stimulating space for all older people, with an integrated approach to care: from those who are more able through to those with higher level dementia needs.
What We Offer
From Millman Street we operate a range of responsive and attractive services: Day Care, Outreach and Befriending services.
Our aim is to promote active minds, inspiration and healthy well-being.
Day Care
A safe, homely environment, offering engaging and varied activities, freshly cooked hot food and good company. Providing great opportunities for respite, learning and fun.
Our activities programme is vibrant, varied and therapeutic with focus on movement, creativity and art.
With brilliant partnerships in the community and with other voluntary organisations, our care staff team are experienced in working with Over 55s and their families. Taking a person centred approach to care planning, we make sure they find out about each person’s story.
Acting as a voice for the older people who attend our Day Centre, our care staff are there to help you. Whether it be managing health care appointments, medication, you will find at a Millman Street, it is care your way,
Outreach
From Millman Street, our Outreach staff support older, vulnerable people in our local community. Providing hands on care and practical support, our Outreach staff can help you
with managing your health care appointments and prescribed medication.
Working hand in hand with Social Workers and local health services, our Outreach staff have a proven track record.
Befriending
Many of us might be feeling in need of a friendly chat right now, someone to listen to and lend a helping hand.
Our Befriending Volunteers can offer regular phone calls and practical help.
If you or someone you know wants to sign up to the service please ring or email for further details regarding eligibility and availability.
Art
Our Arts team deliver arts activities for adults, and over 50s in and around Holborn. All of our creative activities are delivered using a participatory approach, designed to welcome and encourage the whole community to give arts a go. It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced artist or a first-time paintbrush holder!
Movement
Across our two community centres, HCA provides a range of physical activity classes for the Over 50s. Encouraging people to keep active, improving and maintaining their physical and emotional well-being. Whether it be Chair Based Yoga, Table Tennis, Qigong, Contemporary Dance or Tai Chi, there is something for everybody to try.
If you, or someone you know, is in need of support or if you have any questions please send us an email.
