Children at our STEM Clubs have been busy on two local estates, Tybalds Estate and Bourne Estate. They’ve been meeting since Autumn and have settled into meeting weekly after school to learn and explore STEM subjects in a fun environment.
In the last few months we’ve played maths games, had an introduction to coding, engineered catapults and towers, looked at problem solving, learnt about chemical reactions by making slime and looked at ways we can help the environment and reduce our carbon footprint.
We’re really excited about the new year and have started off learning about astronauts and traveling to space through MIssion X, a range of activities for children to find out more about what it takes to become an astronaut. Mars Day is approaching in the spring and this is a great way for children at our STEM clubs to get involved.
We’re hoping 2022 will bring greater opportunities and who knows, we might have a space explorer from Holborn in the making!
