Individuals: Arts Activities

what is it?

We deliver arts activities for children and young people, adults, and over 60s in and around Holborn.

All of our creative activities are delivered using a participatory approach, designed to welcome and encourage the whole community to give arts a go. It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced artist or a first-time paintbrush holder!

Arts Classes for Children and Young People Our creative groups for children and young people inspire curiosity, develop skills and help children to make friends through creative play.

Digital Arts Support Volunteer (for neurodiverse children & young people)

Description:  We are looking for volunteers to support our Digital Arts sessions for neurodiverse children and young people such as those with autism and ADHD. In these relaxed sessions participants will be supported by professional artists to experiment with different digital arts techniques (animation, coding, illustration), build social and communication skills and make friends. Artwork produced by participants will be displayed in our annual exhibition.

Days & Times:  Wednesdays (term-time) 4:30pm – 6.45pm:

Term 1:  15th January – 2nd April 2025

Term 2:  23rd April – 9th July 2025

Duties:   Volunteers are required to arrive 15 minutes before the session to assist in setting up and stay afterwards to help clear away. They will work alongside the artist facilitator and HCA staff to motivate, support and engage individually and in groups in a variety of digital arts tasks.

Who will the volunteers be working with?  Volunteers will work alongside an artist facilitator, HCA staff and children and young people aged 6 – 18.

Training:  We will provide all volunteers with an induction session to basic health and safety of the space, safeguarding and general information about suporting and working with the group.

Time commitment:  Ideally, we would like volunteers to commit to attending on a weekly basis for at least one term.

Application requirements:
No previous experience necessary, just an enthusiasm to support the emotional and creative development of those taking part and get involved themselves. We particularly invite those with lived experience of neurodiversity or SEND to apply, but this isn’t compulsory.
